11am - 11.45am Richard Griffin Lecture

Richard Griffin began performing magic at just 11 years old. At 17 he won The Magic Circle’s Young Magician Of The Year and went on to win the IBM silver Shield and the British Magic Championships at the Blackpool magic convention.

At just 25 years old he became a member of The Inner Magic Circle with Gold Star, the highest accolade of The Magic Circle.

He has appeared on many TV shows, been a support act for many British TV stars as well as performing to the stars including a private show for Michael Jackson and for Royals Prince William and Kate Middleton . Richard has also been a magical advisor, credits include TV’s Mr Bean, The Paul Daniels Magic Show, The Royal Shakespeare company, Visa and Alpha Romeo.

Ryan Hayashi, the 2017 F.I.S.M. European Champion in Close Up Magic, is known for his television performances on “Penn & Teller: FOOL US”, “Britain’s Got Talent”, and “Tonight At The London Palladium”. Since 2008, he has appeared on over 40 TV shows in 12 countries, speaking 7 languages. In his lecture Hayashi will talk about his approach to developing material for close up, stage, competition, online and television audiences.
His talk will cover his philosophy on choosing, learning and rehearsing magic, as well as designing persona, brand building, and practical examples of commercial magic.
Ryan Hayashi has been actively performing on an international level for over 20 years, and coaches magicians in both Europe and the US.
