The A-Z of Commercial Close-Up Magic

Paul Andrews, a top working pro for 36 years, co-founded Dynamic FX with Marc Paul, Anthony Owen and Nick Reade. Together, they secured over a dozen residencies and more than 800 gigs a year! Look at that number again. In this very special lecture, Paul will explain how they achieved these impressive results, revealing the company’s marketing secrets for the first time. It’s going to be the best magical marketing masterclass you’ll ever see!

And there’s more. Paul will talk about choosing material, the best ways to approach tables and groups and how to structure your routines. He will also discuss the various challenges of performing ‘walkabout’ magic and how to deal with them. There will also be tales from his Dynamic FX days, such as devising the final Paul Daniels TV show ‘Secrets’, working with Jeremy Beadle and even licensing a trick to David Copperfield!

Paul is currently based in London although after this lecture he’ll be relocating to Brisbane. He was one of the first demonstrators for Marvin’s Magic and trained many of those who later joined the company. He was co-producer of ‘Tricky TV’, which ran for three series and was shown in over 100 other countries, and has been a consultant for many TV shows, films and live events. He also set up an escape games business featuring an escape room inspired by Ali Bongo (Paul’s mentor and the person who nominated him for Circle membership).
