Michael Vincent is one of the all-time greats of magic. He is known, loved and widely admired for his outstanding skill, superb technique and elegant presentational style. Currently celebrating his 50th year in magic, Michael will be sharing his remarkable story and the insights that can only come from a lifetime devoted to magical excellence.
In this very special club night event, Chris Harding will interview Michael about his life in magic, first as a student, then as a top professional and these days as a coach passing on his unrivalled knowledge to the next generation. This fascinating conversation will include the vital lessons Michael has learned on his magical journey, such as how to really study magic effectively and achieve the kind of excellence that has always been Michael’s hallmark. It’s worth noting that Michael has won the coveted ‘Close-up Magician Of The Year’ title three times in three separate decades!
Among other subjects, Michael will talk about his early influences, such as Doug Henning, Fred Kaps and Ricky Jay, and visiting the magic shops of his youth including Hamley’s, Ken Brooke’s, Davenports and Alan Alan’s ‘Magic Spot’. He will also talk about some of his most treasured books (including ‘Cardshark’ by Darwin Ortiz and ‘Entertaining Card Magic’ by Cy Endfield) and the honour of meeting Slydini.
In this wide-ranging and fascinating conversation, Michael will also talk about turning professional, creating ‘The Vincent Academy’ and losing his hearing. We’ll also learn about his decision to retire from performing professionally in order to care for his mother and why he created his show, ‘Michael Vincent Showtime’. Although this isn’t a ‘tricks lecture’, Michael might be persuaded to perform one or two of his most treasured routines!
Without doubt, this is going to be a very special evening celebrating the life and achievements of a true master of magic and one of The Magic Circle’s outstanding stars. Don’t miss it!
How’s this for a great lecture?!
Ferran Rizo is one of Spain’s busiest, funniest and most successful magicians, with 30+ years experience. He works all over Europe, performing at private parties and corporate events (BMW, Schweppes, Jamesons etc.) in theatres, restaurants and bars. He has written seven magic books, edits a magazine about the history of magic and teaches at the Juan Tamariz School in Madrid. Ferran has lectured all over the US as well as in Spain, France, Germany and Argentina. All pretty impressive!
In this very special lecture, Ferran will present his ‘signature’ coin magic creations, including his ‘Two Finger Colour Change’, ‘Coin Draw’ (draw a coin and, hey presto, it’s real!) and a new Okito Box presentation that is a complete departure from traditional OB routines.
But wait! There’s more… Ferran will also be teaching one or two card effects plus his brilliant ‘Safety Unlink’ routine that you simply have to see to believe. It features new methods to link and unlink safety pins in the spectator’s hands — and you end totally clean! This is actually a complete, structured act in its own right and, without wishing to sound like a tired dealer ad, could well become your new favourite EDC close-up miracle!
But wait! There’s even more… Ferran’s co-presenter for this amazing magical evening is his partner Nataly Machado, another top professional from Spain who also teaches at the Juan Tamariz School. She’ll be presenting and teaching one of Ferran’s original creations.
Ferran will be selling his new book, ‘Cosmos’, featuring routines with a standard gaffed coin set that most of you probably already own plus ‘Safety Unlink’ plus other close-up material.
This is one of those lectures you want to see live and in person if you possibly can. Come along to our wonderful HQ, make an evening of it with your friends and enjoy this simply brilliant lecture full of top-class practical material!
Check out Ferran’s tricks and videos at www.FerranRizo.com. Murphys also sell several of his effects.

“As President of the Bath Circle of Magicians, I can honestly say we absolutely loved the lecture from Ferran and Nataly Rizo. This magical couple didn’t present the typical magic lecture where the presenter talks AT you; they speak WITH you. Their passion and love for the art of magic is second to none. From original masterpieces to twists on age old classics, the evening was filled with surprises and many magical moments.” — Roger Nicot
