Close-Up Magician of the Year: Edward Hilsum

22 January 2020

Edward Hilsum completed an unprecedented hat-trick of awards from The Magic Circle last night when he added the Close-Up Magician of the Year title to the pair of titles he already holds, those of Stage Magician of the Year and Children’s Entertainer of the Year.

The 28-year-old from Greenhithe in Kent impressed the six judges to see off seven other finalists last night (Monday) to take the title at The Magic Circle’s headquarters in London.

James Pritchard of London came third and Glaswegian Billy Reid was second.

Edward, said afterwards he was overwhelmed to have won again, included a coin routine which ended with a coin turning into silver glitter and another where a spectator’s photograph on her phone became a real framed picture.

Congrats Edward !
